Luke 10:13-16
Don't Miss the Boat
13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades.
16 “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
Hearing or seeing things over and over can often dull their impact, leaving us missing the boat and condemned to Hades or Hell. Listening, accepting and acting are key to a vibrant and fruitful spiritual life. Jesus calls us to sharpen our commitment and say focused on HIM and his message. Let us take time during our prayer to review the marvels God has worked in our lives and be assured of his loving care. As we who wear glasses need to "unsmudge" them often during the day, so we need to "unsmudge" our view of God's presence and interaction with us.
Bro. Rene
Dear God, help me to see clearly how close you are to me and help me to sharpen my capacity to listen to your words of support and challenge. Amen.
