Guidance In The Truth

 John 16: 12-15

When The Spirit Comes

¹² “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. ¹³ When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. ¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

As we prepare to celebrate the Ascension, Jesus assures us that we will not be left "high and dry". but that the Spirit will be with us to guide and direct us.  We have nothing to fear. Don't we need this reassurance in this Covid and tumultuous era?  We need to hear it over and over again...Taking the "Farewell Address" of Jesus in small bits as we have been doing over the past several days, gives us just enough on which to chew, reflect and digest.  May we take the opportunity today to re-read these few verses, along with those of the previous days, and find the gumption we need to keep moving forward.  The Spirit is ever with us.
