Love God and Neighbor

Matthew 22:37 Love The Lord Your God (gold)

  Matthew 22:34-40

The Greatest Commandment

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

We are reminded again that the greatest commandment is love God and love of neighbor. It seems simple when put into such a short sentence, but living it, putting it into practice, is where the rub comes in. Some people are naturally easy to love, others not so, and beyond them, others we'd never choose to befriend or even love from a distance. But they are all created by God and he loves them,  The more we love God and extend that love to others, the more people we can include in it.  Let us pray for a deeper relationship with, a deeper love of God, and find our prejudices and inhibitions melt away and our love now able to include ALL!

Bro. Rene

Dear God, as you love ALL, expand my heart to love ALL as you do. Amen.
