Parables of the Kingdom
Jesus said to his disciples, "The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.
The value of worldly things cannot compare with the value of heavenly things in the time of Jesus and even now with the economy shaky, inflation skyrocketing, and wars threatening, the pearls and treasures of God rise as THE ONLY VALUE worth countless spiritual dollars and the only bargain worth acquiring. May we set our priorities straight and sink our energy into these.
