The Heart Of A Child

My Reflections...: Reflection for July 14 Wednesday of the Fifteenth ...

Matthew 11: 25-27

The Father Revealed in the Son

25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Jesus reminds us that intellectual contortions Will not bring us closer to the Father than  the loving trust of a little child. His call is for us to become more childlike. A challenge for we pride ourselves on our educations,  our ability to think for ourselves and "stand on our own." Becoming an adult includes the risk of losing the child in us, the abiity yo find joy in the small things of each day, the trusting confidence to "let go and let God", to be free from the shackles of worry. Let us pray for a return to our childhood, in the bet sence, and ask God to help us if we can't find out way to it.

Bro. Rene

So today, let us quiet our minds, quick and bright as they may be, and ask God to reveal himself in the silence and simplicity of our love for him. Let us look to God with the trusting faith of a child, cultivating our love for God above all else!
