Where Is My Treasure?

My Reflections...: Reflection for June 21, Friday: Saint Aloysius ...

Matthew 6: 19-23

Treasures in Heaven

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be."

It's so easy to be side-tracked by material goods of by the things that in the long run do not matter. The internet opens the door to  hours of clutter and useless garbage. How much better would be tie reflecting on the Scriptures rather than on Kim Kardashian's latest antic? Or how much more would our families benefit from our presence with them, rather than our muted presence before our computer screen? Storing up treasure in heaven certainly outweighs our daily dose of internet trash.  My we encourage one another to focus on what really matters
