Enter The Narrow Gate

The Verse Of the Week: Was Jesus really calling some people "dogs" and ...

Matthew 7: 6: 12-14

Profaning the Holy

“Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to attack you.

12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

The Narrow and Wide Gates

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Being a Disciple of Jesus is not easy as Jesus said from the beginning. The narrow gates are not accessible to all, but if we "do to others what we would have the do to us,"  then the gate widens and we are able to  pass through. A look at the number of people killed or wounded in this country over the weekend again demonstrates what happens when the gate of love for one another is neglected:  chaos, lawlessness disregard of the dignity of the other. this is not heaven nor even the path to it. but the opposite, love ad respect for each other, putting self last and the other first..., these enable us to pass through . Let's unclog the gate by loving one another.
