Where Is Our Faith

 Matthew 8:23-27

Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

There's no doubt that life presents its challenges. When we get out of bed each morning, we have no idea what awaits us. Sometimes its a happy surprise, other times, something it's sad or something that tests our stamina and even our faith. Yes, we sail in a sea of storms, but we cannot allow ourselves to be paralyzed by fear. Jesus is always there to calm to winds and seas, and help us get back on course or land safely. Our faith falters from time to time, but praying with and over this frightening scene, we can find peace again.

We see our nation in turmoil as we celebrate "The Fourth". Let us call upon Jesus  to calm the storms that rage in our land and let us ask him to calm to storms that disturb our family and personal peace. He's done it before; he can do it again...and he will!

Bro. Rene

Dear Jesus, thank you for this reminder that no storm is too great for you to calm. Teach me this lesson over and over again. Amen.
