Believing In The Son

 

John 3: 31-36

 God Gives The Spirit Without Limit

³¹ The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. ³² He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. ³³ Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. ³⁴ For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. ³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. ³⁶ Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

Our daily Gospel continues to prepare the way for Pentecost by calling us to appreciate all we have received from Jesus and to believe with confidence and assurance what he has taught. However, our busyness and daily tasks can be hindrances  to continuing the sincere efforts we made during Lent. What did we do then that we can continue deepening our relationship with Jesus and giving the Spirit permission and leeway to use us as his instruments?  How can we put our Faith into Action?

Heavenly Father, you love your Son Jesus and give everything and everyone over to him. May you make of us an everlasting gift to you, that we may always be grateful and sing your praises with joy-filled hearts. Amen.
