Give Us Wisdom

Playing at Life - Matthew 11:16-19

Matthew 11: 16-19

 Deeds Support Wisdom

16 “To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

17 “‘We played the pipe for you,
    and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
    and you did not mourn.’

18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”

We recently heard this passage, but again Jesus asks us to look at our generation.  Not so "hot", for sure. Conflict, violence, decaying values.across the boards,  not a pretty picture.  We do need Wisdom, and that comes from praying with the Scriptures daily, and filling our hearts and minds with what God has revealed to us, not what the world is telling us. We need to support and encourage one another to walk along "The Good Road" of love for God's Ways and love for one another.  What a difference a kind word, or time listening to another can do.  Let us be children who dance for the Piper, rather than sit immobile.

Bro. Rene

Lord, your enemies called you a friend of sinners. Thank God, they were correct. You reached out to sinners in those days and you reach out to sinners today. Even in the midst of our folly we know that we can count on your friendship. Give us hope when we stray from your path. Amen.
