Wait Patiently

(Note:  two slices appeared during the night. Still a mystery.  Let's see what happens today.)

Mark 8: 22-26

Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida

22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”

24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”

25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”

It seems strange that most times it seems that our prayers are not answered, or are only answered partially;  We get discouraged and just let it go.  Watching Jesus cure this blind man in steps is a call to wait patiently for the answers to our prayers, the solutions to our dilemmas, to whatever we seek.  God is not an Ogre, but kind and compassionate as we see in Jesus. What we seek will come in God's time, not ours.

Bro. Rene

Christ Jesus, you touched the eyes of the blind man twice before he was fully cured. Grant us confidence in your persistence in the face of enduring troubles or sin in our lives. Help us to know that you never leave us, that you will continue to heal us, that your love is greater than our weakness. Grant us faith that we will one day see your love for us clearly and distinctly. Amen.
