Beginning With Mary

 Luke 2 : 16-21

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

We begin the New Year with the celebration of the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. World Day of Peace, and First Saturday of the Month, What a way to start 2022!  Certainly, without Mary's YES, there would have been no Christmas and we would still be a world of darkness. But with her came light and, though it may not seem like it at times, "everything is falling into place." Many of us have made or are making "New Year's Resolutions;" let's make one or two that we can keep more than a day! We always begin in hope for a better year for all, and for some improvement in the way we live our lives...May Mary, Our Good Mother help us bring our hopes, resolutions and plans to a happy and fruitful conclusion,  "Holy Mary, Mother of God, praye for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. "

"Gracious God, you have given us the mother of your Son to be our mother and protector. With the support of her prayers may we grow in holiness and experience the rewards of everlasting life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen."  Rev. LeRoy Clementich, C.S.C.

Happy New Year!
